Krister Hansén has composed music in a variety of musical techniques and genres, but is now focusing on music for orchestra. His first large scale orchestra piece was finished during 2007  and in 2008 the small Violin concerto "Luciano",  was awarded first prize in Concorso di Composizione Musia e arte in Rome Italy, competing with many scores from all of Europe.

“Working as a composer, I think it is important, -if possible, to communicate with the musicians during the whole composition process. I also think it is important to ensure that the music can connect outside itself. This might mean that I am interested in meeting the demands of the person who has commissioned the work as well as letting me get inspired by events in real life or society. Aesthetically I combine navism or sometimes a minimalistic approach with traditional culminative thinking, since my music has a driving force that always wants to lead somewhere.”
