from Norrbotten

Below are the names of composers that I personally know of  that are living and working in Norrbotten, -the northermost county in Sweden. There are probably others, most probably semiprofessionals and from others genres, but I only count the ones that I know of and those that are writing music for other musicians using the note sheets as the medium of communication. Below you also find the names of persons that I know of that originally was born or grew up here, alternately were active as composers in Norrbotten and has moved or passed away.  If you know of persons who are composers that I have missed please send me this information from my contact page.

At the bottom of ths page I have made a personal list, mostly for my own record of persons who I have had as teachers during my musical studies. And it´s all from the beginning, starting at the age of 13.

Composers who belong to the history of Norrbotten

Weinö Ruottinkoski, was formerly living in Öjebyn where I was broguht up and worked in the church as a organist. He was at the time rather famous at least in the region as a composer. Even I heard at the time when I was about nine years old people speak about the fact that he wrote music. I don´t think there were so much performances with his own music apart from the music he played in the church.
